A Retraction: Former ESL-MCC Sports Center Article Should Not Have Included Quotes by Paul H. Monday, March 1, 2010 Rochester, NY - Journalist Ryan Whirty recently published an article about the former ESL-current Sports Centre at MCC. The human subject of his article, Paul H., of the Monroe County Economic Development office was misquoted, and worse, did not give permission to Mr. Whirty to use any comments about the failing ice arena on the campus of Monroe Community College.
Moreover, the Smugtown Beacon is reluctant to acknowledge even the occurence of any interview between Paul H. and Ryan Whirty. As you may have noticed, we have pulled the article in question, and apologize to our readers, and especially to Paul H. for having printed the article in the first place. Thank you.
